You can add your own dataset to the CalFish Independent Data Repository.
How it works:
Each new dataset will have its own project page where you can add a project description and upload data files to a project data repository. Once the page is set up for you, you will be notified and you can begin adding data. When logged in, you will be able to edit the page as needed and upload data. Each file upload will need a title, an optional image, a short description and an optional longer description. In addition, appropriate categories should be selected for each uploaded file to allow sorting.
Steps:
1. First you will need to register on the CalFish website to establish a user profile.
2. After registering, return to this page and fill out the project description form with basic information about your dataset. This information will be used to create a new data repository page for your project. You can fill out this form online (see below) and submit it or download the form here and submit it via email.
3. Once this basic project information is submitted, a new webpage will be generated and you will be given the ability to edit descriptive areas on the page and upload data. You will receive an email notifying you when your contributor role has been set up and this new webpage is ready for editing. You will then be able to login to CalFish, navigate to your new page and begin adding your project data and information. During this page building process, your new webpage will only be visible to you and the CalFish website administrator. Download a Data Prep worksheet to get started.
4. When you are ready for your new project page to be visible publicly, you will need to email the CalFish website administrator. At this time, your page will be linked into the navigational menu of the CalFish portal and will be set to be visible to the public.
